The bridge site is located in Seismic zone-V (most severe earthquake zone of India) and there are high winds and heavy rain in the region. Hence the bridge is to be designed to withstand these vagaries of weather and safely pass the trains atleast for the next 100 years. Today the Bridge is standing tall as a world record monument and a testimony to the Indian technical expertise and dedicated efforts to make it a reality amid several challenges.
